Dear Parents,

The teachers at Kerr will use the State’s mandated behavior system.  This system is the School Wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Support System, or SWPBIS.

What is SWPBIS?  SWBPIS is a system that the teachers will use to positively guide the students’ actions.  As the students show good behavior, they will be able to earn positive rewards throughout the school year.  This system is intended to encourage positive decision-making by the students.  By following the Kerr expectations of being “Kind, Eager to Learn, Respectful, and Responsible,” students will be able to earn positive consequences such as “Kerr Kash.”  They will be able to spend the Kash in their classrooms or at the Kerr Mart.  If students choose to not follow the Kerr expectations, they will receive infraction write-ups which will be used to determine their individual negative consequences.  These infractions will also prevent students from attending the nine week parties.

Kerr is very excited about this school year and our behavior system, and we look forward to working with you to make it your child’s best year!  Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions, comments, or concerns.
